NAVIGATING THE TREACHEROUS
WATERS OF HLA IMPUTATION WITH
THE SHLARC
SHLARC
SHLARC is an international network focused on collecting:
1) a large collection of high-quality HLA and SNP data, from an ethnically diverse population,
2) optimizing SNP-HLA imputation methods,
3) with the goal to develop and share large reference panels and help worldwide researchers exploring HLA allelic information from their cohorts.
Currently our reference panel includes more than 10,000 multiethnic samples. Among these samples, there are:
- 3,197 multiethnic samples from the 1,000 Genomes Project (1KG);
- 828 multiethnic samples from the Human Genome Diversity Project (HGDP);
- 1,322 admixed Brazilian samples from the SABE project (collaboration with Erick Catelli);
- 2,399 COVID Consortium samples (Degenhardt et al., Hum Mol Genet, 2022; collaboration with Andre Franke Lab, IKMB);
- 1320 multi-ethnic samples from Degenhardt et al., 2019;
- 986 Europeans samples from NMDP (DTA with NMDP, Martin Maiers);
- 400 Finnish samples (MTA with Finnish red cross blood bank, Satu Koskela);
- 500 samples from Benin (collaboration with MERIT IRD UMR 216, Laure Gineau)
